NFTs at Christie's

Created the playbook for Christie's .com NFT (non-fungible token) coverage, kicking off with Beeple's historic Everydays: The First 5,000 Days, the first purely digital NFT to be offered at a major auction house. Researched, wrote, top-edited, scoped, and/or produced multiple stories with an eye to 'discoverability' online, including coverage of CryptoPunks and a robust NFT 101 guide for new collectors. 'Beeple's Opus' quickly became the second-most-visited digital story in Christies.com history (and the work itself sold for $69.3M).

Blog, Social, and Newsletter

As consulting Head of Content for seed-stage national park startup, reshaped blog content to include park news, inspiration, affiliate, guides, and service, all on a shoestring budget. Optimized content for SEO and retooled it for social: Generated page 1 search rankings for non-branded terms within 2 months; drove organic Instagram and Facebook social growth by 450% in 3 months; and kickstarted new weekend newsletter with 30-40% ORs.

New Hotels Channel

Partnered with UX, product, and dev to relaunch AFAR's Hotels channel to provide travelers with a tool to find the properties that best matched their travel style. Identified a matrix of tags to apply to every AFAR Recommended hotel, to power filtering by price, style, and brand; created inspirational "best of" hotel lists; and showcased recent hotel news coverage. Monthly UVs increased by 122%; PVs increased by 150% per visit; and bounce rate decreased by 20%.

Fodor’s Go List

Concepted and top-edited five installments of Fodor's marquee digital franchise covering the best places to go in the coming year. Editors identified emerging hot spots, value destinations, and events worth traveling for with an eye to global coverage, new airline routes and hotels, close-to-home getaways, and affordable trips. Franchise consistently ranked among Fodor's top stories and generated national media from CBS this Morning, CNN, the AP, and more.

Fodor's 100 Hotel Awards

Led edit, art, and product teams to create Fodor's annual hotel awards for 4 years running. Program leveraged Fodor's expert global writers and pro in-house editors, to vet every hotel that made the final cut, based on service, setting, style, value, and amenities. The multi-platform franchise included digital, print, and event extensions that generated strong page views, brand awareness, and national media coverage from CNN, CBS this Morning, the AP, and more.

National Park Travel

Oversaw Fodor's National Parks to the West and Official Guide to National Parks and culled data from print charts and lists to create a digital National Park Finder 'tool' to help travelers find their perfect park. The tool matrixed preferred season, region, and activities to produce focused results for every user, with specific park recommendations and guide links. Activity level meter and closest airport were also added to help with planning.
